Seminars for Years 10, 11, and 12

Graph2StudyCrunch has been exclusively engaged in the development and presentation of success seminars for high school and tertiary students since 1985. Thousands of students have been through our programs throughout Australia during this time. Extensive research has been undertaken which clearly demonstrates our success in modifying students’ learning styles (a combination of strategies and motives) away form those not conducive to success towards those particularly conducive to success.

StudyCrunch is an Australian education provider. All programs have been developed in Australia specifically for Australian students.

The Senior program: What is it?

The Senior program is a public two-day seminar for students in years 10, 11 & 12. It is presented during school holidays in Brisbane. Anyone may attend.

How you will benefit: Students emerge from the seminar confident and motivated towards their studies and possessing powerful new strategies for speed reading, advanced understanding, summarising, memorising and revision, essay planning, stress management, time management, goal setting and correct study methods (see the full Senior Seminar Agenda).

Does it work: This unique Australian program has been proven over twenty years with a broad range of students. In a survey conducted on an average of six months after their child’s attendance, 93% of parent respondents said there had been a persistent positive change in their child’s school performance.

Graph 1The secret to student performance is this:

  • Correct learning techniques
  • Motivation
  • Stress reduction skills

Sound Simple? You’re right … It’s not! Students have traditionally been left to fumble their way through the education maze without the skills which can make it so much easier – even enjoyable.

Some make it through sheer hard work and persistence.Unfortunately some don’t make it at all.

At StudyCrunch we take learning techniques, self motivation fundamentals and stress reduction skills and wrap them up in an intensive fast moving and highly stimulating two-day package for senior students.

How the seminar is presented?

The seminar is presented via lectures, class discussion, class and group exercises and a very comprehensive 140 page manual which the students keep for future reference. Each strategy or skill is fully explained, demonstrated and practised such that the student is able to apply it immediately in his or her day-to-day school work. Students learn according to the principles taught in the seminar.

What’s it all about? Program objectives.

Rarely do students achieve results consistent with their ability. The program objective is to illustrate and explain the difference between the student’s current performance and potential performance, and provide new skills which will bridge that gap.

As a result, students are able to start playing a very personal role in their learning process. They will feel more confident and competent in their work and, inevitably, enjoy it more.

Who should attend a StudyCrunch seminar?

The course is not designed for students with learning difficulties. Nor is it designed for the genius. It is presented for those students who want to learn easier and more efficient methods of approaching study and student life. . . .for those who want to improve their ability and succeed to the best of those abilities. . . .and for those who perhaps don’t know what they want.

Previous seminars have seen a broad range of students with varying abilities all quickly and effectively develop the superior learning skills introduced. Almost everything covered in the two days is new to the student.
